The Contemplative Way is an ecumenical Christian ministry dedicated to the spiritual transformation of the world by helping individuals, groups, organizations and faith communities build strong foundations in contemplative prayer practices.
Our Vision
Modern culture with all its “busyness”, noise and distractions is transforming Christians and the church. We are unconsciously conforming to the world’s way of thinking and reacting. Our vision is to contribute to the Christ-like transformation of individuals through the living, teaching, and sharing of contemplative prayer practices within the context of an active lifestyle. Contemplation is at the heart of the gospel. It is a process illustrated and supported throughout scripture…
“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10 NIV)
We believe the contemplative way is integrated into life by the Holy Spirit as one is opened to experiencing the Presence of God through the spiritual disciplines of silence and solitude in the practice of centering prayer.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2 NIV)
We define spiritual transformation as a process that happens as one surrenders to God allowing the Holy Spirit to awaken the heart, mind and soul into authentic, Christ-like love and virtue.
Jesus taught us to be in the world…but not of the world.
We want to encourage, equip, guide and support individuals so that contemplative prayer practices become a consistent discipline influencing a transformed lifestyle. Then contemplative prayer evolves into the contemplative way: contemplation integrated into the active life. Through this way of ‘being’ we can truly make a difference in our lives, in our churches and in the world.
